Refinance

So :) we got the house refinance finalized today. We locked in a rate of 5.25% for 30 years. It's going to save us about $200 a month. Should set us up nicely for when sweets stops working in the future.

So, Warning

Just a word to all of the readers of this world-class blog on the internet (yes, all 3 or 4 of you!), the post below entitled "Random Musings" is rather negative. I am apparently not as good at conveying my thoughts as my wonderfully spoken wife is!

So, it also seems as though I start everything off with "so." I guess all of those middle and high school grammar courses really paid off for me....

Haircut

So I got a new haircut on Sunday night. I'm not sure I like it very much but I think it's growing on me. It's kind of a cross between a military cut and an 80's rapper cut. Weird isn't it? I'll try to post a picture of it later. I did like the stylist who did it for me though. I'll have to make sure I go back and see her again. :)

Random Musings

So I've been told by multiple people on multiple occasions now that I should update my blog. After all, it was I who suggested that we start keeping blogs. Of course, I knew that one of us had a lot to say - and the other, not so much. :)

So now, what is there to blog about? Not much really. The resident complainers in the neighborhood apparently got their way and got the speed limit reduced on Avery Ranch Boulevard down to 40 mph from 45 mph. I wonder if they're going to drop the cautionary speed zone down to 20 mph now? You know, the one that they can't legally enforce because it's not on a white and black sign? But the one that everybody swears they have to obey because of the kids when there's no kids around! Now it's of course a no-brainer that if people are trying to cross the main road or if there are kids playing close to the street then slow down. Duh. But these people who get side by side in both lanes and drive 20 mph for no reason and let traffic back up behind them annoy the snot out of me. I guess it proves that if you whine loud enough and long enough you'll eventually get your way in this society. Oh, and of course, it wouldn't be complete without the resident complainers getting back on the neighborhood message forum and proudly gloating away...

Traffic. While we're at it, let's talk about stupid drivers. Now I'm not going to sit here and profess that I've never yakked away (or worse texted) on the cell phone while driving. But you know what? If I'm going to do that, I'm going to make double darn sure that I keep up with traffic and not drive stupidly. Too many times I see people sit through green lights, drive 10 mph under the speed limit, and hug the lane lines. Without fail, guess what they're doing when I get up alongside them? You got it. On the cell phone. Irks me.

My sweeties birthday is this weekend. I already got her present. It's a $$6$%922jjddl@#08f 092##88^^@--. :) There, see, now everybody knows what it is. I think she'll like it. I've still got to get a nice card (funny or serious?) and a couple of other things too. Now we just need to decide where to go for the birthday dinner. Which we can now go to without worrying about missing a football game......

Which brings me to another irking subject. The Big 12. The BCS. Do I really have to explain what happened and how stupid, dumb and idiotic it is? Really? Seriously? Go ahead and gloat Sooners because you're the 'hot' team right now. Just remember that you've played all of ONE team with a decent defense this year. Guess what happened? Hmm. Let's see. Bradford got the snot beat out of him (he still tossed for 5 TDs so he is a good player), their running game got shut down, and hmm, what else. Oh yeah. They LOST. They LOST to us and now they get to go play in the stupid can't beat Texas championship game. Ridiculous. Seriously ridiculous.

I guess I'm getting old since I guess there's somewhat of a negative overtone to the previous musings. I promise I'm not that negative in real life! Sometimes sweets might disagree with that though!

No more for now. The most awesome cook in the world has just finished making dinner (why do I always get shoo'ed out of the kitchen when I ask to help?) and it's time to eat. Maybe I'll update it a little more often than every 6 weeks or so from now on....

Lucy and Off

So Lucy went to the vet this morning. As usual, she made it a complete drama -- playing hard to get with both the vet and the technician, giving us a liberal dose of whimpering, and jumping off of the examination table (it's about 4 feet tall!). Poor thing also got her nails trimmed. She was happy to get out of there!

The weather is so nice that I decided to stay home after the vet trip. Now I just have to figure out what to do for the rest of the day!!

What am I doing?

So this is my first post on my blog. There's no telling what I'll put here. I wonder how long it will be before I have any followers?

Oh well. Time to watch the Texas game tonight! BTHOOM!
